Game 1: Seibu Lions at Rakuten Golden Eagles. At Least the Ballpark is Nice.

Visions of John Maine floated through my head as I watched Kohhei Hasebe walk the first four batters he faced to start the game between his Rakuten Golden Eagles and the pennant-chasing Seibu Lions. After he gave up a grand slam to the next batter, DH Takeya Nakamura, the route was on. The Lions put up five runs in the first two innings and went on to crush Rakuten 14-4.

Sendai's team may be having a rough year, but the ballpark sure is a lot of fun. I think that was the saving grace for the members of the JapanBall tour. I hope so, anyway.
